Silente write songs about things people actually feel but rarely say out loud. The Dubrovnik band has spent over a decade building a catalogue that sits in a category of its own, somewhere between indie pop, folk, and something harder to label. They're coming to Flinsch Events Club Frankfurt, and this is one for people who care about what they're listening to.
When Silente released their first single "Terca na tišinu" in 2013, they weren't announcing a trend. They were introducing a sound: careful, literary, emotionally precise. The kind of writing that makes you stop mid-sentence and replay the line you just heard. Brothers Tibor and Sanin Karamehmedović sign every single song, and that consistency of authorship shows. The band doesn't sound like several different people pulling in different directions. It sounds like one vision, executed with patience.
Four studio albums in, a Croatian Porin music award on the shelf, and a live reputation that has been growing with every tour, Silente has quietly become one of the most compelling live acts to come out of the former Yugoslav scene in the last decade. The lineup tells part of the story: two founding brothers, drummer Ivuša Gojan, vocalist Lara Viktorija Ilić, and violinist Ivana Čuljak. The violin is not a decorative addition. It carries the songs in ways that change how they land entirely.
Their latest studio album "IV", released in 2022, added new layers to a sound that was already confident. Songs like "Nikada ovako", "Idi", and "Gubitnik prve klase" show a band that has earned the right to take its time, to build a song slowly and let the emotion arrive on its own terms. Their most recent single "Ništa Drugo", released in late 2025, signals that the story is still very much ongoing.
Live, the difference from the recordings is immediately noticeable. The violin fills the room differently than any speaker can reproduce. Lara's vocals carry a directness that studio production tends to soften. The songs breathe in a way that recordings don't quite allow.
Flinsch Events Club Frankfurt is exactly the right size for a Silente concert. Intimate enough for the quieter moments to land, well-equipped enough for the bigger ones to open up. For Frankfurt's Croatian and wider regional community, and for everyone simply looking for a live music experience above the average, this is the evening to plan around.
