He trained at music school in Zemun, studied piano, and spent three years singing in a club in Novi Beograd before anyone knew his name. When his first album arrived in **2001**, he was already a complete musician, and the audience recognized it immediately. Within months he was headlining Dom Sindikata in Belgrade with a single record to his name, which almost never happens. What separates him is the voice itself, and what he does with it. There is a control and an emotional weight in his singing that cannot be manufactured in a studio. He cites Oliver Dragojević as an influence, and the comparison makes sense when you hear how he shapes a phrase, how he holds back until the moment actually calls for something bigger. Ten studio albums in, with collaborations alongside Ceca, Aca Lukas, Jelena Karleuša, Severina and Jelena Rozga, he has covered enormous ground without ever losing what made him distinctive in the first place. The songs are the other half of it. **"Maskara"**, **"Kad ljubav zakasni"**, **"Neke ptice nikad ne polete"**, **"Moj grad"**, and a long list of others have followed people through the most significant moments of their lives. Wins at the Budva Festival and Ohridski Trubaduri in 2003, and the first Grand Festival in 2006, confirmed what audiences had already decided for themselves.
